Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho will face a UEFA hearing into a failed drug next month.
However, no exact date has been set for the French international after he tested positive for a banned fat-burning substance after the Europa League tie against Manchester United back in March.
He was initially banned for 30 days, but UEFA opted against extended the ban when it expired at the end of May. UEFA then launched its own investigation into the affair.
In the meantime, however, Sakho had consulted with the club and decided against making himself available for selelction until the matter was resolved.
That meant that he missed the Europa League final defeat to Sevilla in May and also missed out on making the French squad for Euro 2016.
The 26-year-old could prove a key figure for Liverpool next season if he avoids a lengthy ban as, with Kolo Toure released and Martin Skrtel set for a move to Turkey, he will be one of only four senior centre backs at the club at the beginning of the new campaign.
One of those four, Joel Matip, is yet to make his debut for the club, while, another, Joe Gomez, is nearing a return from a long lay-off with a cruciate knee ligament injury.
