Diafra Sakho is set to miss West Ham United's FA Cup clash with Manchester United and Premier League encounter against Leicester City.
The Hammers host the Red Devils in a quarter-final replay on Wednesday night, before travelling to take on leaders Leicester in the league.
However, with the East Londoners eyeing silverware and a spot in the Champions League, striker Sakho will miss the next two games.
"He is out for hopefully one week, not more than that," said boss Slaven Bilic. "For this week, he is definitely out, and hopefully he will be back on Monday."
With Sakho omitted from the squad to take on Arsenal at the Boleyn Ground last Saturday, it was rumoured that a bust-up was the reason for his absence.
Bilic rubbished the gossip, however, and added: The situation is very simple.
"He reported an injury after training on Friday, and then he was not in the squad. Yesterday, he had a scan that reported a little bit of a problem."
Andy Carroll, playing in the central striking role against Arsenal, netted a hat-trick for the Hammers.
"When he is fit and in form, he is very special and gives you something," said Bilic of the Euro 2016 hopeful. "He is different.
"It is hard to mark him and hard to cope with him. For us he has done really well every time he is fit.
"He doesn't have to score; his presence on the pitch gives us another quality and dimension."
