Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says Morgan Schneiderlin will be allowed to leave Old Trafford in January.
West Brom head coach Tony Pulis confirmed on Friday that he had made a bid for the out-of-favour French midfielder, who has played just 11 minutes of Premier League football this season, and Mourinho later confirmed that the 27-year-old will be allowed to leave during the January transfer window.
"If the offer is right and our board thinks so, I would not stop him," the Portuguese said.
"If he is playing regularly, I have a right to say 'no way'. If he is not playing regularly, I have no right to say 'you are not going anywhere'."
West Brom are believed to have made a £13m bid for Schneiderlin, who joined United from Southampton in a £25m deal in July 2015, although Pulis refused to confirm the size of the offer.
"I don’t want to say any more than confirm our bid," Pulis said ahead of his side’s St Stephen's Day trip to Arsenal.
"We have to be fair to Manchester United and the player.
"We have made bids for about four or five players, we won’t talk about them today. We will talk about them if we get them."
