Schmeichel calms injury fears


Leicester City goalkeeper Kaspar Schmeichel has downplayed suggestions that injury could sideline him for some of the Foxes' title run-in.

Schmeichel, who was recently named Denmark's Player of the Year, reportedly limped out of 25 minutes of Sunday's training session ahead of Denmark's international friendly against Scotland at Hampden Park on Tuesday.

However, the 29-year-old, who was seen holding an ice pack to his foot on Saturday, denied that he had suffered an injury.

"Just to confirm: I have NOT withdrawn from the Denmark squad and I have NOT hurt my hamstring. I left training today as a precaution," he wrote on Twitter.

Schmeichel is therefore likely to return to Premier League action for leaders Leicester against Southampton at he King Power Stadium on 3 April.
