Schmeichel could return to face Stoke
Claudio Ranieri hopes to have Kasper Schmeichel available for Leicester's Premier League trip to Stoke on Saturday.
Schmeichel has not played since undergoing surgery on the fractured hand he sustained during his side's Champions League game at FC Copenhagen in early November.
He has stepped up his training and should be fit for the trip to Stoke.
"Kasper Schmeichel trained very well today," Ranieri told his pre-match press conference.
"Kasper is training very well and feels good. Today he made a little game between us. I want to see the reaction tomorrow but the hand is okay.
"I'll check tomorrow."
Midfielder Danny Drinkwater is a serious doubt for the game as he has yet to return to training following a knee injury.
"I will also check Drinkwater. He has a little problem with his knee from Porto. He asked to continue but then I changed," Ranieri said.
"He (Drinkwater) hasn't trained with us. He trained with the physio.
"Without him we lose something but Kind and Amartey are working so hard to do good things. Also Mendy is getting better training after training and then I have to choose the best solution."
