Kasper Schmeichel fears Leicester could be relegated from the Premier League if their embarrassing form continues.
The Foxes produced one of football's most remarkable stories when they defied the odds to be crowned Premier League champions in May 2016 but they have struggled this season and are just one point above the relegation zone.
They are without a league win in 2017 and have failed to score in any of their last five Premier League games, including Sunday's 3-0 defeat to Manchester United at the King Power Stadium.
Although they had little trouble in reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League, the reigning champions are in danger of being relegated from the top flight and Schmeichel admits it has been a dismal season for the club.
"It's not a situation that's comfortable at all. We're the reigning champions and quite frankly it's been terrible, it's been embarrassing," Schmeichel told Sky Sports.
"It's not good enough and it sums our season up at the moment. Let's not talk about last season, last season's gone, as you can clearly see.
"We have to improve right now. It's time for every single one of us, right from the top to the bottom of this club to stand up and be counted because if we don't we're going to end up getting relegated and nobody wants that."
Manager Claudio Ranieri leads the Premier League sack race amid reports that his has lost the support of his players, but Schmeichel insists the entire dressing room will fight to the end.
"I'm not going to comment on any newspaper speculation. I know what's going on in the dressing room," he said.
"We're a group of players who are low on confidence but certainly not low on fight. We'll fight to the end, whatever that might be but I can guarantee every player in there is hurting."
