Seven stand King George ground
Cue Card and Thistlecrack are among the seven horses declared for the 32Red King George VI Chase at Kempton on St Stephen's Day.
The stable companions were both declared for the three-mile feature at Tuesday's six-day stage after connections of Thistlecrack confirmed their intention to step out of novice company.
Unbeaten in three starts over fences, Thistlecrack had the option of going for the 32Red Kauto Star Novices' Chase on the same card but, with the Timico Cheltenham Gold Cup the ultimate aim, connections have decided to try him against seasoned staying chasers.
One of those he will have to beat is last year's King George winner Cue Card, who looked in good shape when landing the Betfair Chase at Haydock last month and victory on Monday would keep him on course for the Triple Crown bonus.
Dual King George winner Silviniaco Conti has stood his ground for Paul Nicholls, while Josses Hill has been supplemented by Nicky Henderson following his win in the Peterborough Chase at the start of the month.
Gigginstown House Stud could have two representatives in the race after Noel Meade's Road To Riches and the Gordon Elliott-trained Roi De Francs were declared.
Last year's Kauto Star Novices' Chase winner Tea For Two completes the small field.
