SFC Draw: Down to play Monaghan

Kildare will face Armagh and Down will play Monaghan in Round 4B of the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers.

The winners of the Down v Monaghan match will face Leinster champions Dublin in the All-Ireland quarter-final on 5 August, with the winner of the Kildare v Armagh game meeting Ulster champions Tyrone on the same day in a Croke Park double-header.

Both Round 4B All-Ireland SFC qualifiers will be played at Croke Park on the evening of Saturday 29 July.

Kildare were beaten 2-23 to 1-17 by Dublin in Sunday's Leinster Senior Football Championship final at Croke Park, as Jim Gavin's side secured a record seventh provincial crown at HQ.

Niall Grimley scored eight points and Jamie Clarke netted a late goal as Armagh beat last year's beaten All-Ireland semi-finalists Tipperary 1-17 to 1-15 in Saturday's SFC round 3B qualifier in Thurles.

The match pits Armagh boss Kieran McGeeney against the Kildare side he managed between 2007 and 2013.

Down were beaten 2-17 to 0-15 by Tyrone in the Ulster SFC final in front of a crowd of 31,912 at St Tiernach's Park.

Corner-back Fintan Kelly scored a late goal as Monaghan beat Carlow 1-12 to 1-07 in their 3B qualifier at Netwatch Cullen Park.

Down beat Monaghan by two points in the Ulster semi-final on 24 June.
