Shaw returns to training

Luke Shaw returned to training on Monday six months after suffering a serious leg injury in Manchester United's Champions League defeat at PSV Eindhoven.

Shaw underwent surgery after suffering a double leg fracture when he was caught by Hector Moreno with a slide tackle during the opening game of the Champions League group stage on September 20.

He has been working hard on his rehabilitation and made a welcome return to the training pitch on Monday with a club physio.

After the session, Juan Mata posted a picture of Shaw on his Instagram account with the caption: "My friend @LukeShaw23 just came in from running out on the pitch. Getting closer."

While he has returned to training, Shaw is not yet ready for ball work and it is unclear if he will play again this season.
