Everton have signed Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea for a club-record fee of £45m.
The Icelandic international completed his medical earlier on Wednesday.
Sigurdsson overtakes former Blues' player Romelu Lukaku , who made the switch to Goodison Park back in 2013 from Chelsea for a fee of £31.8m, as the club's record signing.
"Hopefully I will continue to create goals and score goals for the team and contribute to the kind of success we're seeking at the club," Sigurdsson said.
"This is an ambitious club and it is clear we are moving in a really good direction. The most important thing is that this team keeps winning games and climbing the table - and does that throughout the season."
The midfielder played a crucial role in keeping Swansea in the Premier League last season, scoring nine goals and making 13 assists.
Everton boss Ronald Koeman believes the 27-year-old is one of the best midfielders in England.
"It took some time but finally we have signed the player," Koeman said.
"In my opinion, in his position he is one of the best in the Premier League. We have the player here and that's really good for the team."
