New Hull manager Marco Silva believes Hull can retain their Premier League status and he has vowed to do all he can to ensure the Tigers 'win this challenge'.
The former Olympiakos and Sporting Lisbon manager's appointment as Mike Phelan's successor was confirmed on Thursday and his sole objective for the next five months is to guide Hull away from the relegation zone.
Having only managed three wins this season, the Tigers are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table, three points from safety but Silva is confident the club can enjoy an upturn in results.
“We believe it is possible to win this challenge. We are here to help Hull City to remain in the Premier League and this is our only objective in the next (few) months," Silva told the club's official website.
“It is about the Club first. Success for us this season would be to remain in the Premier League and this is the only thing that is in my mind.
“It is a really difficult challenge because at the moment the league position is bad and the results are not the best so it is important that we change this situation.
“We have a busy week and a busy month, but I come here with confidence that things can change.
“There are things that we need to improve. Our organisation and concentration in games is important. The players know this because they are smart.
“I believe. If I didn’t believe I would not have come here. I believe we can help this team to stay in the Premier League.
“What I want, what the players want, what the owners want and what the supporters want is all the same. We all want this team to remain in this league.
“I will stay at this training ground for many, many hours because of this. It is important for me to get to know the people and the routines. It is important for me to get to know what needs to change.
“I have my ideas and of course there are things I want to change, but not everything.”
