West Ham will be without striker Diafra Sakho for six weeks as a result of the injury he sustained during Sunday's draw with Manchester United.
On only his second appearance following a long injury lay-off, Sakho fired the Hammers in front inside the opening two minutes at Old Trafford but he was forced off in the 66th minute after picking up a thigh injury.
A scan on Tuesday confirmed he will be out of action for up to six weeks, which will rule him out of the busy Christmas and New Year period.
Speaking on Tuesday West Ham manager Slaven Bilic voiced his concern at losing Sakho for a period of time.
"It's a big blow for us. He showed against Spurs and against Manchester United what he brings to the team. I can only hope it's not going to be long," he told reporters ahead of the EFL Cup quarter-final against United.
