Skrtel passes Fenerbahce medical

Martin Skrtel is on the verge of becoming a Fenerbahce player after passing a medical with the Turkish club.

Skrtel signed a new three-year contract at Liverpool last summer but he fell out of favour following Jurgen Klopp's arrival, starting only four games after the turn of the year.

Klopp's decision to bring in Joel Matip appeared to signal the end of Skrtel's Anfield career and he took a step closer to finalising a move to Fenerbahce when he completed his medical on Wednesday.

The Turkish club published a number of photographs featuring Skrtel and fellow prospective new signing Ismail Koybasi being put through through their paces and the Slovakia international will complete his move once he has agreed personal terms with the club.
