SSE Airtricity League returning to eir sport

eir sport will broadcast 15 SSE Airtricity League games during the 2019 season as well as all five of the U21 Republic of Ireland team qualifiers for the UEFA U21 2021 European Championships.

Illustrating their ongoing support for the League of Ireland, eir sport will be showing more games than ever before during the upcoming season, with Dundalk FC’s new head coach Vinny Perth and Shamrock Rovers' Aaron McEneff joining the punditry team of Conor Morris, Con Murphy and Shane Supple for Wednesday's announcement.

As well as the increased coverage of the SSE Airtricity League, eir sport will also broadcast all five of the U21 Republic of Ireland team home fixtures in the UEFA U21 2021 European Championships qualifying campaign.

Kicking off against Luxembourg on March 24, Ireland will also host Armenia on September 10, Italy on October 10, Sweden on November 19 and Iceland on March 26 2020, with all five games live on eir sport.

Joining the punditry team this year is former Irish Internationals & League of Ireland star Shane Supple. After being forced to call time on his career at the age of 31, Supple will bring his vast knowledge of the game at league of Ireland, U21 and senior level to the eir sport team and viewers of the eir sport pack.

Speaking at the announcement, eir sport Managing Director Susan Brady, said; “We are delighted to announce upcoming soccer coverage that will be exclusively live to viewers of the eir sport pack. The forthcoming SSE Airtricity League season is set to provide fantastic entertainment and we are thrilled to be in a position to bring continued coverage of the league to football fans across Ireland. We also look forward to following Stephen Kenny, his management team and players in their upcoming 2021 European Championships qualifying campaign and we would like to wish them every success.”
