Stoke complete Martins Indi deal

Bruno Martins Indi has signed a five-year deal at Stoke City after completing his £7m move from Porto.

The Netherlands international, who was on loan at the Bet 365 Stadium last season, is unlikely to eligible for Saturday's visit to Everton unless Stoke managed to register him with the Premier League before midday on Friday.

However, the 25-year-old centre-half, who made 35 appearances in all competitions for Stoke last season, will be available for the Potters' first home game against Arsenal on Saturday, 19 August, which will be shown live on BT Sport 1 on the eir Sport package [kick off 5.30pm].

"We are delighted to have secured a deal to bring Bruno to the club in a permanent transfer and I know that Bruno feels the same," Stoke chief executive Tony Scholes said.

"Bruno loved being with us last season and made no secret of his desire to move here permanently when his loan spell came to an end.

"We've had to be patient in our dealings with Porto, but we're really pleased with the outcome."

Stoke manager Mark Hughes confirmed in his news conference ahead of Saturday's trip to Everton that Swansea City had made an enquiry about Wales midfielder Joe Allen's availability.

The 27-year-old left the Liberty Stadium to sign for Liverpool in 2012, and moved to Stoke in a £13m deal last summer.

"They made an enquiry," Hughes said.

"It wasn't a bid or a request to buy him or anything like that. They just asked would we be willing to allow him to leave and we said no.

"I think we have to respect that they came and they did that and because of the answer they got you'd like to think they will respect our position."

Darren Fletcher, Max Choupo-Moting and on-loan Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma are likely to make their Stoke debuts at Goodison Park, while Hughes says striker Saido Berahino is "in great shape".
