Suarez Barca switch details revealed

Football Leaks website says fee smaller than reported

Liverpool did not receive £75m when selling striker Luis Suarez to Barcelona, the Football Leaks website has revealed.

That was the fee which was widely reported when the Uruguayan joined the Catalans in the summer of 2014 but the published document about the details of the move shows the cost was £10m less than that.

The Champions League winners paid the Merseysiders £13million soon after completing the deal on July 31, 2014 before further installments of £13million were paid on January 31, 2015, July 31, 2015 and January 31, 2016.

A final payment of £12.98m is due this summer on July 16 and will complete the deal.

The document also states that there are no clauses included in the contract for sell-on fees or dependent on success.

The forward has been a huge hit at the Nou Camp, helping them to win the treble in his first season.
