Suarez fires Barca to La Liga title glory

Catalans pip bitter rivals Real Madrid

A Luis Suarez hat-trick clinched the La Liga title for Barcelona as their 3-0 win at Granada ensured they held off Real Madrid by a single point.

The Uruguayan's treble secured the Golden Boot as he tapped home early on to ease any Barca nerves, doubled the lead on 38 minutes with a powerful header before rounding off a comprehensive win by slotting home Neymar's pass late on.

Real did their bit by easing to a 2-0 victory at Deportvo La Coruna with Cristiano Ronaldo's brace earning Los Blancos a 12th straight league win.

However, Luis Enrique's side's fifth win on-the-bounce means they finish top of the pile for the second consecutive season, with Atletico Madrid finishing in third.

Barcelona will win a second straight league and cup double if they beat Sevilla in the Copa del Rey final on Sunday, 22 May.
