Swans confirm Baston capture

Borja Baston is a Swansea player after completinghis £15.5million move from Atletico Madrid.

The Spaniard scored 18 goals while on loan at Eibar last season and he will be hoping for a similar return in the Premier League, penning a four-year deal to join the Swans.

The deal, which is subject to international clearance, sees Baston become the club's record signing, surpassing the £12million they paid for Wilfried Bony in 2013.

“There is pressure, but it is good pressure. I want to repay the transfer fee paid for me with good performances and results," Baston told the club's official website.

“It’s difficult to set a target of goals, but my mantra is take it goal by goal. Hopefully I can score a lot of goals.

“It is the most important decision of my career. I want to settle and spend several years here.

“I am very happy to be here. I am eager to contribute to the success of the team.”

Swansea begin their Premier League campaign at newly-promoted Burnley and Baston is hoping to make his club debut at Turf Moor.

“I would love to play this Saturday, but I will have to speak to the manager to see if he wants me to be involved," he said.
