Three debutants for Ireland

Joe Schmidt has made wholesale changes to the team that defeated New Zealand for the Guinness Series opener against Canada at the Aviva Stadium.

Following Ireland's heroic defeat of the All Blacks last weekend, Schmidt has taken the opportunity to hand out a number of new caps for the visit of Canada with Garry Ringrose among those set to make his international debut.

Despite being included in the squad for the trip to Chicago, Ringrose did not see any game time at Soldier Field but the Leinster man is named in the centre alongside Ulster's Luke Marshall.

Connacht's Tiernan O'Halloran gets the nod at full-back and he is joined in the back three by Keith Earls, who has completed his suspension, and Craig Gilroy.

Paddy Jackson did not travel to the United States for personal reasons but the Ulster fly-half will take his place in the half-back line alongside Kieran Marmion.

As expected Peter O'Mahony and Sean O'Brien both return to the starting XV after long-term injuries and they are joined in the back row by Jack O'Donoghue, who will make his international debut, as Billy Holland locks down with Ultan Dillane.

Cian Healy, Sean Cronin and Finlay Bealham were all introduced from the bench in Chicago but they will start at the Aviva Stadium.

As many as four players could make their debuts from the bench with Niyi Adeolokin, James Tracy, Dan Leavy and John Ryan all named among the replacements.

Ireland (XV v Canada): T O'Halloran; C Gilroy, G Ringrose, L Marshall, K Earls; P Jackson, K Marmion; C Healy, S Cronin, F Bealham, U Dillane, B Holland, P O'Mahony, S O'Brien, J O'Donoghue

Replacements: J Tracy, D Kilcoyne, J Ryan, D Ryan, D Leavy, L McGrath, J Carbery, N Adeolukun
