Tipperary football boss Liam Kearns says the GAA's proposed calender for 2018 could cause "a lot of chaos".
The 2018 football championship will begin at the start of May, with April set aside for club games, but Kearns says inter-county teams need to use April to plan and train for the Championship summer.
The "Super 8s" will replace the All-Ireland football quarter-finals, with the All-Ireland football final taking place three weeks' earlier than in 2017, on 26 August.
"They're talking about the provincial championship starting the first week of May," he told Tipp FM.
"Are they seriously saying we're going to release players to the clubs for the whole of April, and then play the first round of the championship in May?
"That doesn't work. The month before the championship is a crucial month and I really don't know how it's going to work. Is every county going to release their players back to clubs for the whole of April, and then start from scratch again in May?
"I don't think this has been thought out very well and there could be a lot of chaos in relation to this."
Missing the Championship already? eir Sport will broadcast up to 30 games from the GAA Football and Hurling Club Championships in 2017. Coverage continues on Saturday, 7 October on eir Sport 2 with the Kerry club football championship semi-finals between Kerins O'Rahilly's and South Kerry [throw-in 3pm] and reigning All-Ireland club champions Dr Crokes and West Kerry [throw-in 4.45pm] from Fitzgerald Stadium in Killarney.
