Tottenham agree Sessegnon deal

Tottenham have reached an agreement with Fulham to sign England U-21 left-back Ryan Sessegnon for an initial fee of £25m.

The fee for the deal, which will see midfielder Josh Onomah move to Craven Cottage, could eventually rise to £30m for the 19-year-old.

Sessegnon, who burst onto the scene during Fulham’s push for promotion to the Premier League two seasons ago, scored two goals in 35 top flight appearances last season.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that Tottenham have opted not to pursue their initial interest in taking former Liverpool attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho on loan from Barcelona.

The White Hart Lane outfit, who look set to lose influential midfielder Christian Eriksen before the end of the transfer deadline, are reportedly likely to turn to Real Betis midfielder Giovani lo Celso as an alternative option.

Any deal for the Argentinian international is expected to be an initial loan with an obligation to buy.

Lo Celso made 45 appearances for the La Liga club in all competitions last season, scoring 16 goals.
