Tottenham slump out of Europa League

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netted twice, as Borussia Dortmund completed victory in both legs of their Europa League Round of 16 tie with Tottenham.

The Premier League title hopefuls went down 2-1 on the night at White Hart Lane, following Dortmund's 3-0 victory in Germany last week, as Thomas Tuchel's side secured a first-ever win on English soil to go through 5-1 on aggregate.

Aubameyang curled in a stunning strike from outside the box in the 24th minute, then made it 2-0 on the night on 70 minutes with a cool finish from Henrikh Mkhitaryan's through pass.

Son Heung-Min pulled one back for Tottenham three minutes later, his sixth goal against Dortmund in eight matches for three different clubs, but Mauricio Pochettino's side had in truth given up the tie for dead following the chastening first-leg defeat at the Westfalenstadion.
