Dublin footballers have received a triple boost with news that Stephen Cluxton, Diarmuid Connolly and Michael Darragh MacAuley have all made themselves available for selection for the 2020 campaign.
Incoming manager Dessie Farrell made the announcement at a news conference on Friday thereby ending speculation that we may have seen the last of the trio in the Dublin colours.
Veteran goalkeeper Cluxton, one of the most decorated footballers in GAA history, has indicated he “is very keen to stay involved”, Farrell said.
Cluxton is currently recovering from shoulder surgery and should be available for selection before the end of March.
Star half-forwards MacAuley and Connolly are likely to play a major role in the Allianz Leagues campaign which kicks off on January 25th with a replay of last season’s All-Ireland final as Dublin take on Kerry at Croke Park (LIVE on eir sport 2 from 7pm).
Dublin will be looking to regain the trophy which they have won in five of the last seven seasons following Mayo’s triumph last year.
