The first Manchester derby of the Jose Mourinho-Pep Guardiola era has been cancelled due to poor weather conditions.
The two Manchester clubs had been scheduled to meet in the International Champions Cup in Beijing's Bird's Nest Stadium on Monday but heavy rain has left the pitch unplayable.
"Due to recent weather events, tournament organisers & participating clubs have decided to cancel tonight's International Champions Cup game," Manchester United tweeted on Monday morning.
Both managers had expressed concern over the state of the pitch with Mourinho suggesting players would suffer injury if the game was to go ahead.
"We want to keep calm, play safe, go home and keep the preparation going next week. A good result means going home without any injuries," Mourinho said on Sunday.
"I just wish there are no problems in the match and everyone goes home without injuries. If we manage to do that, then that’s fine."
