Southampton manager Claude Puel believes neither Virgil van Dijk or Jose Fonte will leave the club during the January transfer window.
The centre-backs have been the subject of much speculation with the Dutch international linked with a £50m switch to Manchester City or Chelsea.
Fonte meanwhile was the subject of interest from Manchester United last summer as his fellow Portuguese Jose Mourinho looked to add to his defensive options.
However, Fonte stayed at St. Mary's and Puel has now confirmed that he and van Dijk will both still be Saints' players come February.
"Of course they will both stay [for at least the remainder of the season]," he said.
"It's important for them to stay and have a good attitude and improve
our position in the table.
"Virgil is a very important player for us and he will stay here. It will
be important with Virgil to continue his work and [help us] go up on
the table. For me it's not an idea or view with Virgil [to leave the club].
"[The situation with] Jose is a little peculiar but he is contracted with
Southampton. It's always speculation about different players. It's
normal because they are great and important players."
