Vautour has Sandown option

Willie Mullins has entered Vautour in Saturday's Bet365 Oaksey Chase at Sandown in his quest to land a first British trainers' championship.

Mullins trails Paul Nicholls in the standings following Vicente's win in the Scottish National at the weekend, but the County Carlow handler could send a strong team to Sandown in the hope of catching his rival.

Vautour was an easy winner of the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival before falling when odds-on at Aintree but he could travel to Sandown for the extended two-mile-six-furlong feature.

As well as the Ryanair Chase winner, Mullins has also entered Ballycasey, Sir Des Champs, Valseur Lido and Vroum Vroum Mag, while Nicholls has on Art Mauresque, former champion chaser Dodging Bullets, Rocky Creek, Saphir Du Rheu and Wonderful Charm all engaged.

Vroum Vroum Mag is also entered in the Bet365 Select Hurdle along with Shaneshill with Ptit Zig and Silsol possibles for Nicholls, although The New One could take his chance for Nigel Twiston-Davies after bypassing the Scottish Champion Hurdle.

Un De Sceaux could renew rivalry with Sprinter Sacre in the Bet365 Celebration Chase, although the race has been reopened after only nine entries were received.
