Walters sits out training

Jonathan Walters sat out Thursday's training session at Fota Island after picking up a knock.

Walters sustained a slight calf injury in Wednesday's training session and was unable to join the rest of his team-mates at Fota Island on Thursday morning.

While the rest of the squad were put through their paces, Walters went to work in the gym with the physios but he is expected to return to training later this week.

James McCarthy was able to take part in Thursday's session after overcoming the hamstring injury that prevented him from featuring in the recent Euro 2016 warm-up games against the Netherlands and Belarus.

Meanwhile, Robbie Keane is unlikely to train until next week as he continues his recovery from a calf problem.
