Wanyama completes Tottenham move

Tottenham have announced the signing of Victor Wanyama from Southampton.

Wanyama, who completed a medical earlier this week, has signed a five-year deal with the north London club in a deal reported to be worth in the region on £9million, although that could rise to £12million.

"We are delighted to announce that we have completed the transfer of @VictorWanyama from Southampton. #WelcomeWanyama," the club posted on Twitter.

The deal will see Wanyama reunited with former Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino, who signed him from Celtic during his time at St Mary's.

During his three years at Southampton, Wanyama made 97 appearances for the club and played a big role in the Saints qualifying for the Europa League but he will now have the opportunity to play Champions League football at Tottenham.
