Watford leapfrog Everton with win at Vicarage Road
Watford put Everton to the sword with a 3-2 win at Vicarage Road to leapfrog above Ronald Koeman's side in the Premier League table.
Romelu Lukaku gave the Toffees the lead early on with a cool finish from a Gareth Barry through ball, before Stefano Okaka levelled matters for the Hornets before half-time.
The four-time capped Italy striker, making just his second Premier League start of the season, brilliantly back heeled a volley from a Nordin Amrabat cross past Everton goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg for his first Premier League goal since netting for Fulham against West Ham in May 2010.
A header from Sebastian Prodl from a Jose Holebas corner edged Watford in front, before Okaka made it 3-1 on 64 minutes with a header from another Holebas corner,
Lukaku pulled a goal back for Everton late on but it was too little too late for Koeman's team, who now have won just once in the Premier League since the end of September.
And things will not get any easier for Everton, who have two home games against Arsenal and Liverpool to come over the next week.
Walter Mazzarri's eighth-placed Watford, who move level on points with Manchester United with the win, face back-to-back away trips to Manchester City and Sunderland over the next seven days.
