Watson leads World Challenge

Bubba Watson hit a course record to hold a two-stroke lead over Paul Casey after the third round of the World Challenge in Barbados – with the Englishman equalling his round of 63.

The two-time Masters champion grabbed seven birdies and holed a 169-yard seven iron for eagle to record a record round of nine under par.

Casey meanwhile was also bogey-free for the day and notched six birdies amid some superb play on his back nine to match Watson’s round.

The American pair of Patrick Reed and Chris Kirk sit a shot behind Casey after both signed for rounds of 66 while world number one Jordan Spieth and Bill Haas trail the leader by four strokes. </p>

Brooks Koepka remains in the shake-up five shots behind Watson on -14 after shooting a seven-under 65 while the trio of Rickie Fowler, Adam Scott and Zach Johnson are on the fringes of contention, six shots off the pace.

Overnight co-leader Jimmy Walker tumbled out of contention after carding a disappointing round of 71 to sit seven shots off the lead in this 18-man invitational event hosted by Tiger Woods.
