Wenger committed to Arsenal

Arsene Wenger remains committed to Arsenal despite being linked with the England manager's job.

Wenger was one of the names put forward for the position following Roy Hodgson's departure in June and he has once again been linked with the vacancy in the wake of Sam Allardyce's shock departure.

The Football Association announced Allardyce's departure, after just one game in charge, on Tuesday evening after he was filmed discussing how to break the governing body's rules on player transfers, with Gareth Southgate set to take charge of the senior team for the next four matches.

While flattered to be linked with the position, Wenger has made it clear that he is completely committed to Arsenal.

"It's a huge surprise what happened - who could have predicted that 48 hours ago? Nobody, but the English game is always full of surprises," Wenger said.

"Look, of course [I'm flattered] but my priority has always been this club. Until the end of this season I am here and completely focused on that.

"I said many times my priority was towards Arsenal Football Club, I will have to assess how well I do until the end of the season."
