Arsene Wenger has yet to decide whether to include Alexis Sanchez in his squad for Arsenal's clash with Stoke on Sunday.
Sanchez has not played since picking up a hamstring injury in the 1-1 draw at Norwich in November. He had been expected to return before Christmas but he met with a setback in his recovery and was ruled out until mid-January.
The Chile international has returned to training but Wenger is unsure whether to gamble with his fitness after being criticised for playing him against Norwich.
"The question mark is about Sanchez, he has two decisive days – Friday and Saturday," Wenger stated. "He is fit and has worked very hard. The decision we have to take is whether to take a gamble on his injury."
Mohamed Elneny completed his move to Arsenal on Thursday and he could make his debut for the club at the Britannia Stadium.
"Elneny, he is available for selection. There is a possibility he is in the squad on Sunday," Wenger told his pre-match press conference.
"He is a promising player. I expect him to develop with us into a very strong player. He can defend and attack.
"I have not decided yet how everyone recovered, but there are no new injuries from Liverpool game."
