Williams to miss season end

Nick Williams has played his last game for Ulster after being ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Williams, who is due to move to Cardiff Blues at the end of the season, has failed to recover from a shoulder injury and will undergo surgery to repair a labral tear, which will bring his campaign to a premature end.

Tommy Bowe made his first appearance of the season in Ulster's Guinness PRO12 win over Zebre after recovering from the knee injury he picked up in the Rugby World Cup but he has suffered a mild reaction to the problem and will miss the visit of Leinster to the Kingspan Stadium.

Director of Rugby Les Kiss will be without several players for Saturday's game with Louis Ludik and Paul Rowley unavailable due to their respective groin and knee injuries, while Ian Humphreys has seen a spinal specialist for a long-standing back problem.

Sammy Arnold is likely to miss the remainder of the season but Wiehahn Herbst could be available for selection within the next two weeks.
