Ireland international Marc Wilson has joined Bournemouth on a two-year deal from Stoke City.
Wilson, who previously played for the Cherries on loan in 2007, joins fellow Ireland internationals Harry Arter and Eunan O’Kane at the Vitality Stadium after completing a £2m transfer.
The Antrim-born defender fell out with Stoke manager Mark Hughes earlier this month after claiming in an online conversation with supporters that the players do no defensive or positional work in training.
The 28-year-old, who joined Stoke from Portsmouth in 2010, struggled for game time with the Potters last season following the arrival of Glen Johnson from Liverpool and the season-ending knee injury he suffered in an FA Cup tie against Crystal Palace in January.
"I am delighted to be back on the south coast," Wilson told Cherries Player HD.
"I know a lot of the guys down here and as soon I heard the interest from the club it was very appealing to me.
"Of course it was a big decision to make with having to move my wife and kid back down here, but I am thrilled now that I’ve made it.
"I enjoyed my years at Stoke but I spoke with the manager Mark Hughes and we both agreed it was time to move on – I am excited now to start a new chapter in my career."
