Wilson set for Bournemouth move

'Terms agreed' with Stoke for Ireland defender

Bournemouth have agreed a fee to sign the Republic of Ireland's Marc Wilson, according to Cherries manager Eddie Howe.

Stoke City confirmed through boss Mark Hughes on Saturday that the defender would be allowed to leave the club before the transfer window closes.

It now appears likely that Wilson will move on to Bournemouth.

"We have agreed a fee and are waiting for the formalities to be completed," Howe told Sky Sports.

The price for Wilson, who has two years remaining on his current contract, is believed to be £2 million.

The 28-year-old has made over 150 appearances for Stoke, having joined from Portsmouth in 2010, but appeared just once for the Potters in the Premier League last season.
