Women's Six Nations unveil new initiatives
The Six Nations Council have unveiled a set of new initiatives which it hopes will race the profile of the Women's Six Nations.
In the year of the Women's Rugby World Cup, he Six Nations Council has worked with each of the six unions to ensure every match will be produced for television to the highest quality standard with every game available on either television or streamed live on Six Nations YouTube / Facebook channels.
A Six Nations Rugby match manager will attend each game in the tournament to ensure the minimum standards are applied at each venue.
"This is an exciting development for Women's rugby and it will give us a great base to work on for the future," Six Nations chief executive John Feehan said.
"For the first time in the history of the Six Nations Women's Championship, supporters in each country will be able to watch all of their team's matches live and to a high quality standard whether they are playing at home or away.
"This forms part of the ongoing work done by the Six Nations Council who are constantly looking at the Championship within the context of the global rugby landscape and at ways of developing our sport."
Ireland begin their Six Nations campaign away to Scotland on February 4 with the girls in green travelling to Italy the following week.
Ireland host France in Donnybrook on February 26 ahead of the trip to Wales on March 11. The campaign draws to a close at home to England on March 17.
